Austrian-American (1892-1960)
New York City Scene
23 x 18 in.

Pastel on paper, 1940, signed in black chalk, lower right. In very good condition with good color. The artist's intent in the majority of his pastels was to convey the feeling of the architecture of New York. Dolice used a great deal of imagination to exaggerate perspective and create looming architecture. The final result seems almost impossible in reality, but conveys the feeling of the majesty and energy of the city.
