Albert SternerSterner was born of American parents in London and studied at the Birmingham Art Institute in England. In Paris he studied at the Academie Julien. He was a competent draftsman, receiving numerous commissions for magazine illustrations. Although this was his main source of income, Sterner, was well respected for his work done in lithography, which he helped promote from commercialism to an important art medium. Sterner was a member of the American Watercolor Society, National Academy of Design, and the Society of Illustrators. His work is included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Public Library, Brooklyn Museum, Carnegie Institute, and various museums in Europe.

Lithograph, 1925, edition limited but unknown. Signed and dated on the stone. In good condition printed on heavy wove paper with full margins, deckle edges all around. A watermark with a crown, Umbria Italia, in the top, right margin of the paper.
