Carlos Anderson

Carlos Anderson was born in Midvale, Utah in 1904. He was a painter, illustrator, and a WPA artist who worked in Salt Lake City, New York, and San Francisco. He studied at the University of Utah, the Los Angeles Art Institute, Art Students League, Academe Julian, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. In the latter part of the 1930's he moved to New York where he began a twenty year career as a graphic artist. Anderson is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Utah State Fine Arts, National Museum of American Art, and the Springville Museum of Art, Utah. Anderson died in Salt Lake City in 1978. Reference: Utah Artists Project
