Bracquemond's remarkable plate of an owl, hawk, bat, and raven nailed to a door shows the artist's superb technique, artistic individuality, and decorative instinct, done at the age of nineteen.

Etching, c.1880, Beraldi 223, state(IV/IV), total edition unknown. Signed in pencil, lower right, etched or stamped with the initial 'B' in the lower left. An excellent image printed on laid paper with a partial watermark in the lower margin, (DBC within an XV).
The margins appear to be slightly trimmed, but adequate. Sheet size: 12-3/4 x 18-7/8 in. Illustrated in The Print Collector's Quarterly, April, 1912, p.219, and The Golden Age of Engraving, Frederick Keppel, 1910, p.203.
